The Chapel School, established in 1947, offers quality Christian education
to children from varied faith communities. It is staffed by qualified and
experienced educators. The school is affiliated with the Lutheran
Church--Missouri Synod, is a member of the Lutheran Schools Association of
Metropolitan New York, and is registered with the New York State Education
Department. The school is accredited with both Middle States and National
Lutheran School Accreditation. Chapel School admits qualified students of
any race, color, national and ethnic origin, and does not discriminate on
the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin.

Chapel School is part of the second largest parochial school system in the
USA: Lutheran Schools!

The Chapel School is the Professional Development School of Concordia College

Dr. LuJuana R Butts, Professor of Education , a Professor at Concordia serves on the Chapel School Faculty. Conversely, faculty and staff of the Chapel School serve on an "as needed basis" as guest instructors in the Teacher Education Department at Concordia College. Rev. Dr. Robert Hartwell , Pastoral Liaison to the Chapel School has served for several years as an adjunct professor at Concordia College in the traditional and ADP Program, having taught Introduction to the New Testament and Religious Themes in Contemporary Literature for the Literature and Religion Departments. In addition, teacher education students learn by serving in the Chapel School which is the primary laboratory school for Concordia and Master Teachers at Concordia provide their expertise to the Chapel School Faculty and Staff. Concordia College and the Chapel School have also been pleased to offer world renowned authors, motivational speakers and drama troops as a part of the Professional Development School Event Series, open to Concordia College, Chapel School and the wider metro-area community. Chapel School provides an excellent Christian Day School educational program
for children in Grades Preschool (3-year olds) through Grade 8. The school
features caring teachers in a safe and loving environment. It also provides
an extended CARE program for children needing supervision beyond regular
school hours. An eight-week summer program is also offered.

To accomplish this mission, Chapel School:

Educates the whole child to grow SPIRITUALLY by providing worship
opportunities, daily devotions and Bible-based religion lessons facilitated
by a caring Christian staff.

Educates the whole child to grow ACADEMICALLY and AESTHETICALLY by providing
a curriculum that meets New York State standards, and is enhanced with fine
arts, a foreign language, library media, and special events.

Educates the whole child to grow SOCIALLY by establishing environments where
teachers and students become a caring community reaching out to others in
need both inside and outside the school.

Educates the whole child to grow EMOTIONALLY by viewing each child as a
special creation of God, thereby nurturing talents, abilities, self-control
and positive self-esteem.

Educates the whole child to grow PHYSICALLY through physical education
classes, and an after school sports program.

Election Day "voting" at The Chapel School in Bronxville involved all
320 students casting their ballots for Pres. Bush or Sen. Kerry at realistic
voting booths set up in the school lunchroom.
