Alpha Next Steps: Walk the Talk with Gerard Long, Chuck Colson and Rick Warren The Alpha Course has been a life changing event for millions of individuals and has helped tens of thousands of congregations to do effective outreach into their communities. What has been missing is a follow-up course but now we have one. Walk the Talk, hosted by AlphaUSA director Gerard Long, is essentially a conversation with three leading Christian thinkers "guiding new Christians across deep waters...exploring key issues such as life and death, good and evil, pain and suffering, truth, sin, reconciliation, history and the future." In other words, Walk the Talk is good for people who have been Christians for years but want to deeper in the faith as well as those who newly identify as followers of Christ and have many questions about living a new life. Walk the Talk begins April 11 at Village Lutheran Church at 6:30 PM with a meal, teaching begins at 7. The course features three 20 minute segments followed by tem minutes of discussion ending at 8:45. This is followed by five more gatherings on April 18, 25, May 2, 9 and 16. Please sign up by calling the church office at 914-337-0207 (1003) or e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . You may also sign up on the tear-off sheet in the welcome card insert in the weekend bulletin. The group is being coordinated by Alpha Leaders with the assistance of Eric Swensson, a member of our congregation, an author of several books (including his most recent A Year in Tyr) and a long-time Lutheran Pastor. Join Us For Worship: Saturday at 5:30 PM and Sunday at 9 AM and 10:45 AM. Service of Prayer for Healing on the Last Saturday of each month at 6:30 PM! Good News Christian Coffee House on the 2nd Saturday at 7:30 PM! |
